It is published 6 times a year.
All articles should be emailed to us as either a .doc (Microsoft Word) or .rtf (Rich Text Format) file. Articles should be a minimum of 750 words, with 1200-1500 words being ideal. Sidebars should be a maximum of 500 words, with a minimum of 300 words being ideal.

Please email all articles, photos and ideas to SRI at info@selfrelianceillustrated.com.

Images

All Images should be separate from the article. Please do not include or place images within your .doc or .rtf file. If you need to reference a certain image at a specific point in the article, please say something along the line of "See Photo 1". Images should be high resolution .tif or .jpg files at least 300 DPI. Images taken with a digital camera should be taken at the highest resolution/quality setting the camera will allow. Do not attempt to resize, shrink or compress the images in any way. We will crop and resize images as needed. We need the images to be the best quality, largest you can send.

Illustrations

All non-photo illustrations should be separate from the article. Please do not include or place illustrations within your .doc or .rtf file. If you need to reference a certain illustration at a specific point in the article, please say something along the line of "See Illustration 1". Images should be high resolution .tif or .jpg files at least 300 DPI. Color and/or black and white illustrations are accepted.

Captions

Please always include captions for each image and illustration. They can be included at the end of the article or in a separate document.

Bio

We like to include a very short biography for each author. Please include this with your article. It should be written in third person and should be no more than five sentences.

Submitting Articles

We prefer that articles are emailed using the following guidelines—

1. Name your file in the following format: SRI_LastName_Topic.doc
2. Name your images/illustrations in the following format: SRI_LastName_Topic_##.jpg
3. When sending your article via email, please make the subject something along the lines of 'SRI Smith Trapping Article' or 'SRI Smith Trapping Images'. If you need to send multiple emails to include all attachments, please also number them '1 of 3', '2 of 3', ect. This will ensure that we receive every part of your article and know how many emails to expect.
